Contemporary Cement Tile Pattern Creates Mediterranean Feel

Traditional rug patterns are ideal for formal spaces, or where you would want to maintain a focal point in a room, as seen in this living room.

Contemporary Cement Tile Pattern Creates Mediterranean Feel

To keep a Mediterranean feel for this Florida home, solid color cement tiles in indigo blue accentuate the various tropical shades used within the Thimo Pimentel's Juanillo Handmade Cement Tile collection.

The Artist Series of Handmade Cement Tile, created by artists from the Dominican Republic, showcases the skills of the artisans, while elevating cement tiles to a functional art. A portion of each sale supports charities that promote art in the artists' home country. Made to order, these handmade cement tiles require an 8-10 week time frame for delivery. Also, an 4"x8" border tile is available with this pattern.

Colors Used in This Cement Tile Pattern

Plain or solid color tile is used as "fill tile" outside the rug. To keep a cool Caribbean feel, Heritage Indigo Blue in an 8-inch square format was used outside the main rug.

Cement Tile Design Idea

Add a custom look and feel to any room with a little creativity, such as: cutting cement tile in half for borders; alternating with stone; or by combining with large format ceramic or porcelain tile. Not only will you add interest and panache to the room, but youll also create a one-of-a-kind look, which is exactly what many clients desire.

Cement Tile Tip

Cement tiles can be installed on wooden sub-floors. For residential flooring applications, we recommend you install cement tiles on a backer board with a 1/2" plywood sub-floor above the floor boards.

Most importantly, an extremely level surface is critical for any cement tile floor installation.
